Spain: They held hostage French businessman over four months
A wealthy Frenchman held hostage by four men for nearly two months and most of that time was in Marbella in southern Spain, a seaside resort frequented by the rich and famous of Europe, announced Tuesday by the Spanish police.
The hostage was released and the perpetrators were arrested after they managed to extort 1.3 million.
This case was revealed today by the authorities, although arrests were made last week, on the night of 6 to 7 September. The Spanish police, who cooperated with the judicial police in Toulouse, identified the kidnappers, who are all French, not in San Pedro Alcantara, a community close to Marbella of Andalusia.
The four assailants, aged 45-57 years, all had their rich registry. They kept their victim, a wealthy businessman, for two months after he won the codes of bank cards, his forced to buy several things, especially gold. The amount of the won reached 1.3 million euros.

The perpetrators had met in prison were serving sentences for robberies and homicides. They all had one thing in common: they had shot in the past, at least once a policeman. One was sentenced to life imprisonment and had escaped from prison.
